About this role

Sentry's mission is to empower software development teams to build better products, faster. Our crash reporting platform helps over a million developers and tens of thousands of software teams at some of the internet's most loved websites/apps (Dropbox, Uber, Airbnb, Stripe, Atlassian, and many more) discover, triage, and resolve production software issues, so they can spend less time debugging and more time building software.

Sentry is looking for an experienced data scientist to help us build anomaly detection within our next-generation incident management product. This heavily product-focused role will work closely with software engineers across our engineering organization to build massively-scalable solutions for our customers. The software you architect will help tens of thousands of customers identify critical failures and point their engineering staff directly towards the root cause.

If you're excited about the challenges that come along with processing over one billion events per day, start thinking of your new hire gif now!

  • Designing a model for anomaly detection that supports our incident management product
  • Testing hypotheses and iterating quickly as we learn more about our dataset
  • Collaborating with software engineers to implement a solution that scales to billions of events

  • You enjoy "scratching your own itch" by building powerful solutions you personally find useful
  • You want to contribute to open source code
  • You like engaging with the community both online and in person at conferences and meetups
