New Issue Details UI Now Available
Over the last few months, we've been developing a revamped issue details experience to streamline triage workflows and address usability concerns. It is now available to all users.
We started to redesign the page with two main design principles in mind: a strong information hierarchy and progressive disclosure.
An improved information hierarchy results in clearer boundaries between different types of information and actions. For example, workflow actions are grouped together while details about the issue or event are also shown together.
Progressive disclosure means the user can choose what elements of the page they want to see. Sections are collapsible, while tags, breadcrumbs, and activity can expand into drawers to help declutter the page.
We have continuously received user feedback about the UI–yes, we read through all submissions–which has helped us iterate and improve it even more. Some recent changes made during the early adopters release include more prefetching for better performance, an improved tags workflow, and extending the new UI to issue types beyond errors.
To enter into the new experience, click on "Try New UI" in the upper right of your issue details page. If you have any feedback, we encourage you to share with us by clicking on the beaker dropdown in the top right corner.
This update represents a big change for the issue details page, one that we hope allows you to understand and triage your issues better and faster than before. Give it a try today!
