About this role

We’re looking for our first Data Engineer to design and develop robust scalable solutions for collecting and analyzing large data sets. You’ll create and maintain the data pipelines, data structures, and reports used by different business functions, as well as create intuitive tools to allow teams to draw deep insights and analyses from our data. Work at the intersection of business and product to help us better understand our enterprise, in a role where you’ll be expected to identify interesting trends proactively (and not merely craft queries on behalf of others).

 

Your responsibilities:
  • Designing, building and managing data marts to satisfy our growing data needs
  • Combining data from disparate sources into a unified & reliable source of truth
  • Ensuring data quality and verifying complex queries for correctness
  • Launching and supporting new data models that provide intuitive analytics to internal customers
  • Using your strong coding skills across a number of languages like SQL and Python to support analysts and data scientists
  • Interfacing with internal data consumers to understand data needs

Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience as a Data Engineer or similar, working with large data sets
  • Expertise with at least two of Spark, Kafka/Kinesis, BigQuery, Redshift, SQL, Airflow
  • BS in Computer Science or related quantitative field
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and succinctly
  • In the San Francisco Bay Area or willing to relocate
