Sentry is looking for an Accounting Manager to join the Finance Team of our rapidly growing organization. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, is successful at scaling with fast-paced growth, and is willing to be hands-on and roll up their sleeves in a startup environment. In this role, you would be joining our Finance Team and be a key influencer in contributing to the on-going building and improving of finance processes.

You’ll be responsible for:
The Accounting Manager is primarily responsible for maintaining the G/L, account reconciliations of some balance sheet accounts, advanced technical accounting expertise and supporting other functions within the accounting department, as necessary. More specifically:
 
  • Performing, supervising, managing and coordinating substantial month end close activities in a 10 business day month end close time frame
  • Ensuring accuracy of GAAP compliant financial statements via review and quality control around account reconciliations and surfacing of issues or trouble spots
  • Explaining financial statement fluctuation via preparation of monthly & quarterly fluctuations
  • Ensure department heads receive monthly actual to forecast statements
  • Researching technical accounting guidance and issues
  • Manage accounts receivable with day-to-day transactional activity as needed and dive into and review anomalies or transactional exceptions. Ensuring accounts receivable are collected in a timely manner
  • Troubleshooting revenue and billing related issues and implementing ASC 606 compliance along with any other new or emerging revenue trends
  • Assisting with reconciliation and consolidations of international set of books
  • Managing financial audits and tax filings

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's (or equivalent degree) in Accounting
  • 4 6 years industry experience (preferably high-tech, Cloud or SaaS)
  • Strong internal customer service focus
  • Extensive experience with Auditors
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, ever-changing environment with some ambiguity and a need for directing energy and thinking
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to take initiative, work flexibly and with a sense of urgency, and set priorities with minimal direct supervision
  • Solid computer skills required, including MS Excel
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and understand process flows, problem-solve, and produce results
 
Bonus Qualifications
  • Active CPA license
  • 2 4 years Big 4 experience
  • Accounting experience in a multi-country/currency or publicly-traded company
  • Experience designing/implementing G/L systems for scale
