Android 17's Memory Limiter can silently kill apps that exceed their memory budgets, leaving developers in the dark about how users experience their apps. The experimental Memory Limiter integration for the Sentry Android SDK lets developers turn those silent terminations into reportable Sentry events:

Enable it in your AndroidManifest.xml:
<meta-data android:name="io.sentry.memory-limiter.enable" android:value="true" />
Or when you initialize the SDK:
SentryAndroid.init(this) { options ->
options.isMemoryLimiterEnabled = true
}
The integration is disabled by default. It requires Sentry Android SDK 8.57.0 or later, Android 17 (API level 37) or later, and an SDK cache directory.
